Hi Guys:
Aunt Ida died a little while ago.....we received this beautiful
email from her husband. I was so touched that I wanted to share
it. She was truly a wonderful person.....a woman of grace and
kindness....
Dear Friends and Relatives,
On behalf of our children, David, Linda & John, their spouses and our grandchildren (our family), it is with the deepest regret that I have the solemn and unfortunate duty to inform you that our beloved Ida, the pride and joy of our family, has cast aside the surly bonds of Earth and has ascended to her eternal home in heaven as one of God's Very Special Angels, an honor and reward she so richly deserves.
In our family, Ida has always has been our Queen of Hearts. She was the epitome and the perfect exemplication of what a homemaker should be. She was our concilator when our children were young. She was the best chef, the best comforter in times of turmoil, our healer in times of injuries and always, always with the utmost love and compassion as she never allowed acrimony or rancor to become any part of her persona.
Ida was all of these things and more, much more more......
Ida was one of those rare persons who would rather light a candle than complain about the darkness and her glow illumined and enlightened all the members of our family.
In typical "Old World" style, this beautiful and vivacious lady of Northern Italian descent put the welfare of her family above her own personal concerns because she was uncompromising and unconditional in her love to her family. Those of us who were so fortunate to know her and were the recipients of such unselfish devotion learned much from by her example. We have been well-rewarded for it.
There are no words to express the sadness and grief our family endures regarding our unspeakable loss. Our love, respect and adoration of her are without measure.
Amidst this sea of desolation and despair, our family finds in our disconsolate hearts some consolation and solace from the fact she was our very own Angel and our Queen of Hearts for over fifty years, a joy for which we are forever grateful.
She leaves an impeccable legacy of fidelity, love and devotion to her family, an abiding loyalty to her faith and an unblemished reputation for honesty and integrity. These most cherished traits have been ingrained into the character of our children who will pass them on to generations to come.
Helen Keller wisely wrote, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched. They must be felt with the heart."
In this tribute to Ida and the other messages, we have sought to convey to the recipients our feelings straight from our hearts.
On Sunday, 7/13, there will be a prayer service for Ida at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, 180 Church St., Marietta, Ga., from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.; her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, 7/14 at Saint Brigid Catholic Church, 3400 Old Alabama Rd., Johns Creek, Ga. with interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetary, State Route 20, Canton, Ga. A reception will be held from 2:30 - 4:30 P.M. following interment at The Marlow House, 192 Church St., Marietta.
Friends and relatives are sincerely invited to all of these events.
